Regulation (...) on fabrics quality control, processed products: The notified technical regulation governs how fabric and textile companies may refer in contracts to the technical specifications applicable to the quality control of their products. In order to take into account developments in regulations, standards and buyer needs, the notified text updates the technical specifications applicable to the quality control of fabrics and processed products in ECOWAS member States. It lays down the technical requirements for the quality control of fabrics, textiles and clothing. The nature of clothing as merchandise directly linked to the consumer must be taken seriously. Garment manufacturing companies must improve the quality of their products, as this may also boost the competitiveness of the market. It is no secret that consumers face regular clothing-related issues, such as durability and wear and tear. Some of these issues are due to the quality of the fabric.

Develop and sustain a waste management system for textile garments, home linen and shoe products, i.e. one that provides for their collection, sorting and recovery, with a focus on recovering such items through reuse and recycling, in accordance with the waste treatment hierarchy set out in Directive 2008/98/EC of 19 November 2008 on waste and in Article L. 541-1 of the environmental code. The extended producer responsibility scheme applied to the waste management system for textile garments, home linen and shoe products also seeks to optimize the management of such waste from an environmental, economic and social perspective.
