Electrical lighting products - Compulsory requirements: This National Standard specifies safety requirements for all electrical lighting products for use in Trinidad and Tobago, including but not limited to, fluorescent lamps, tungsten filament lamps, light-emitting diode lamps (LED), seasonal and holiday decorative products and luminaires. It also specifies labelling information to be placed on the electrical lighting products as well as information to be placed on the packaging for such products. This standard applies to electrical lighting products intended for use at either of the following nominal supply voltages: a) 115 volts, with a relative tolerance of ± 6 %; or b) 230 volts, with a relative tolerance of ± 6 %. This standard does not apply to electrical lighting products designed exclusively for industrial purposes or electrical lighting products intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, e.g. the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (caused by dust, vapour or gas) .
