This standard covers plastic containers and utensils in contact with food, single-use or reusable, made from single material or multiple materials, single layer or multiple layers used for prepare, storage or consume, and includes composition of container in contact with food e.g. cap, space, or inner cap. This standard separates plastic utensils by usability in 3 conditions i.e. high temperature, normal temperature and chilling temperature. It classifies plastic utensils for food by types of plastics into 4 types i.e. poly(vinyl chloride), polycarbonate, polyamide and poly(methyl methacrylate) . This standard specifies general requirements e.g. resistance to temperature, odor and taste, resistance to impact, safety requirements. It also includes packaging, marking and labeling, sampling and criteria for conformity and testing.

It classifies plastic utensils for food by types of plastics into 2 types i.e. acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and styrene-acrylonitrile. Draft of the Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens: The Bureau of Energy intends to draft the ''Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens'' to strengthen the energy efficiency supervision and the inspection.

Proposal for amendments to the legal inspection requirements for microwave ovens: In line with the energy policy, the BSMI proposes to require that microwave ovens be subject to Section 6 "General conditions for measurements", Section 8 "Determination of microwave power output" and Section 9 "Efficiency" of CNS 60705: 2018, and CNS 62301: 2017. The measured efficiency and standby power shall comply with the Table of "MEPS for Microwave Ovens" as stated in "Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Energy Efficiency Indication, and Inspection for Microwave Ovens" to be adopted by the Bureau of Energy, which was notified as G/TBT/N/TPKM/456 .

Requirements on Minimum Energy Performance Standard, Labelling and Inspection of Rotordynamic Water Pumps (draft): Aiming to enhance the efficiency of energy utilization, the Bureau of Energy intends to expand the regulated scope of energy consumption standard and labelling scheme to include rotordynamic water pumps so as to reduce electricity loss. The proposed scheme applies to both imported products and domestically manufactured products. In addition to the scheme, the proposed technical regulations also specify labelling and inspection requirements, the conformity assessment procedures and post-market surveillance. Products that fail to conform to the requirements will be prohibited from being sold and placed on the domestic market.
