The Scottish Government has set out a vision for forestry through the Scottish Forestry Strategy – this recognises that forestry is a long term activity and that forests should be sustainably managed to provide economic, environmental and social benefits. The scheme is available to private land owners such as farmers, private forest owners and small and medium scale forest businesses. Grants are based on 80 100% of 'standard costs' which sets out the average cost for carrying out a forest activity.

Agriculture, Food and Industry: Bailiwick of Jersey: Rural Support Scheme (RSS): The aim of RSS is to incentivise farms in Jersey to deliver an integrated and sustainable agricultural production model based on world class consumer and customer assurance schemes, in order to increase productivity, reduce the environmental impact of farming and establish Jersey as the first jurisdiction in the world where all farms are LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) Global Standard accredited.
The RSS is targeted at commercial agriculturalists (defined as those commercial farming businesses which have a minimum annual GBP 40,000 gross margin) or smallholders (part time or small farming businesses which have a minimum annual GBP 5,000 gross margin).
