Normative Instruction Nº 46, issued on 24 September 2013. Approves the list of noxious seeds prohibited and tolerated on production, trade and transportation of national and imported seeds of many crops, including forage, vegetable, flowers, ornamental, medicinal, condiments, environmental and forestry starting from the 2013/2014 season. This regulation does not apply to species of tropical forage crops. This was previously one component of the proposed measure notified in G/SPS/N/BRA/831/Rev.1.

Measure description Coverage of the measure
Normative Instruction Nº 46, issued on 24 September 2013. Approves the list of noxious seeds prohibited and tolerated on production, trade and transportation of national and imported seeds of many crops, including forage, vegetable, flowers, ornamental, medicinal, condiments, environmental and forestry starting from the 2013/2014 season. This regulation does not apply to species of tropical forage crops. This was previously one component of the proposed measure notified in G/SPS/N/BRA/831/Rev.1.

CFIA is taking emergency measures to mitigate the risk of entry of the ash dieback pathogen, C. fraxinea. The pest categorisation has concluded that C. fraxinea meets the definition of a quarantine pest and its introduction into Canada could cause significant negative economic and environmental impacts. As of 30 January 2013, the importation of ash nursery stock and fresh branches from Germany and the Netherlands, as well as seeds and dried branches from all infested countries, will be prohibited entry into Canada

CFIA is taking emergency measures to mitigate the risk of entry of the ash dieback pathogen, C. fraxinea. The pest categorisation has concluded that C. fraxinea meets the definition of a quarantine pest and its introduction into Canada could cause significant negative economic and environmental impacts. As of 30 January 2013, the importation of ash nursery stock and fresh branches from Germany and the Netherlands, as well as seeds and dried branches from all infested countries, will be prohibited entry into Canada
