Environmental programmes: Agri-environment-climate funding for environmental land management priorities under Rural Development Programme, support to increase resilience of wildlife, habitats and ecosystems to climate change, investments in forest area development, woodland creation and sustainable management of existing woods and forests, wetland creation, conservation of cultural and natural heritage located on agricultural holdings, improving water management and enhancing biodiversity, support for conversion to and maintenance of organic farming systems for environmental benefits.

The Woodland Investment Grant (TWIG) scheme is designed for anyone that owns and/or has full management control of land within Wales to enhance and expand existing woodlands and create new woodlands in accordance with the UK Forestry Standard. TWIG aims to support the creation and enhancement of publicly and privately owned woodlands which have the potential to become part of the National Forest of Wales. The territorial scope of the measure is limited to Wales. (...)
In addition, it meets the policy specific criteria set out in Paragraph 12: Payments under environmental programmes. Eligibility for payments is limited to land owners/managers with projects to enhance, expand or create woodlands. Woodland projects will need to be able to demonstrate clear benefits for local people and biodiversity, whilst supporting Welsh Government's aim of tackling the climate change emergency and the long-term vision for a National Forest in Wales. As per 12(b), the amount of payment is limited to the extra costs incurred in the enhancement, expansion or creation of woodlands.

Farming Innovation Programme - extension to "Farming Innovation Pathways", notified under G/AG/N/GBR/9. (...) this amendment adds two new research and development (R&D) funding streams to the Farming Innovation Programme: the industry-led R&D Partnerships Fund and the Farming Futures R&D Fund. The additional funds will stimulate innovation and develop approaches to boost agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.
The R&D funding streams will deliver farmer-led solutions to productivity challenges, as well as addressing longer term strategic challenges such as producing nutritious food more efficiently and sustainably, by helping the sector reduce greenhouse gas emissions to achieve Net Zero goals. It aims to drive the development and adoption of new technologies, processes and practices in agriculture, needed to secure sustainable food production into the future.

Environmental Land Management: Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI).
(...) The SFI is one of the three Environmental Land Management schemes being introduced under the UK's Agricultural Transition Plan (the Landscape Recovery and Local Nature Recovery schemes will be notified in due course).
The SFI aims to help farmers manage land in an environmentally sustainable way and maintain food production, whilst delivering environmental benefits (public goods). Farmers will be incentivised to produce public goods by meeting standards relating to water quality, biodiversity, animal health and welfare standards, climate change mitigation. (...)

Landscape Recovery (LR) Project Development Phase (PDP).
Landscape Recovery aims to deliver enhanced landscapes and ecosystem recovery through long-term, large-scale, land use change projects. It is one of the three Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes being introduced under the UK's Agricultural Transition Plan.
The Landscape Recovery PDP will aim to cover costs such as advice and data collection which would otherwise act as barriers to the delivery of such projects, especially for small landowners. The funding will be provided to meet some of the expenses incurred in developing and designing Landscape Recovery projects. Typical eligible costs will include, but not limited to:
(...) • Subject matter expert advice, for example in relation to biodiversity, water, carbon, peat, woodland, heritage or land;

The National Test Programme (NTP) aims to promote sustainable and regenerative agriculture with a twin track approach.
Track 1 encourages farmers to improve their knowledge of current environmental performance and efficiency. It provides public support to producers to undertake Carbon Audits and Soil Analysis. (...)
Track 2 works with a focus group to design and test the tools and processes necessary to reward farmers, crofters and land managers for the climate and biodiversity outcomes they deliver. It creates a Conditionality Test Programme, which involves a cross section of around 1,500 farmers and crofters to learn what measures would work. (...)
In addition, both tracks meet the policy-specific criteria (...): Payments under environmental programmes. Eligibility for payments is dependent on the applicants meeting the specified conditions under the scheme. As per 12(b), the amount of payment is limited to the extra costs incurred (such as for undertaking Carbon audits or Soil Analysis) and the loss of income (where a producer is asked to participate in surveys, and to reflect on and provide feedback on specific actions) which result from complying with the programme.
