The Japanese Agricultural Standards for Organic Plants will be revised as follows:

1) In order to add sprouts as scope of the standard, to prescribe "including productivity derived from their seeds, in case of sprouts production" in principles of production of organic plants.

Act on Preventing Environmental Pollution of Mercury restricts the manufacture and distribution in commerce of "mercury-added products for new use", unless an assessment of the risks and benefits of the product demonstrates environmental or human health benefits. Businesses intending to be engaged in the manufacture or distribution in commerce of "mercury-added products for new use" are required to carry out a self-assessment of use of their "mercury-added products for new use" and notify its result to the competent minister.

To ensure the implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, to further promote the prevention of environmental pollution by mercury, and to protect the human health and the environment from mercury.

Such waste may arise from the commissioning, operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities; the use of radionuclides in medicine, industry, agriculture, research and education; the processing of materials that contain naturally occurring radionuclides; and the remediation of contaminated areas.

Chemical Disinfectants and Antiseptics – Quantitative Suspension Test for the Evaluation of Bactericidal Activity of Chemical Disinfectants and Antiseptics Used in Food, Industrial, Domestic and Institutional Areas – Test Method and Requirements.

Specifies a test method (phase 2/step 1) and the minimum requirements for bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectant and antiseptic products that form a homogeneous, physically stable preparation in hard water and that are used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas, excluding areas and situations where disinfection is medically indicated and excluding products used on living tissues except those for hand hygiene in the above considered areas with the purpose of protecting the environment.

It specifies the requirements and prescribes the methods for sampling and test of instant tea of the species camellia sinensis (linneaus) O. Kuntze. This standard was revised to accommodate technological changes in the manufacture of instant tea, and to differentiate instant teas according to their solubility in water.
