Draft Biosafety (Management of Biotechnology ) Regulations with procedures and arrangement of regulations in the management of genetically modified organisms :

a) to ensure an adequate level of protection in the field of safe development, transfer, handling and use of genetically modified organisms resulting from biotechnology that may have an adverse effect on health and the environment ; and

b) to establish a transparent and a predictable process to review and make decisions on genetically modified organisms.

Technical Regulation on Biosafety for Living Modified Organisms for Agricultural Use. The purpose of this Technical Regulation is to help regulate trade in and the safe use of living modified organisms for agricultural use between the States parties. It applies to the transportation, cross-border movement, handling, development, production and marketing of, and research and experiments involving, living modified organisms for agricultural use.

This draft regulation establishes the Maximum Residue Limits for pesticides in crops, food and animal feed traded in Jamaica. It empowers the designated authority to test commodities for pesticide residue and to take the prescribed action to protect the environment and consumers in Jamaica.

The measure represents a temporary restriction on the importation to the territory of Kazakhstan of agricultural and wild animals, genetic material, raw materials and products derived from animals, horn-hoofed raw materials (horns, panthers, hoofs), leather raw materials (skins of horses, deer and wild animals) from the Osh region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This public notice is to make the Act consistent with its primary laws or other provisions mentioned in the public notice and to revise other details: making compulsory the application for risk assessment of new marine and fisheries LMOs, which is being defined as discretionary with regard to their safety management; and, if marine and fisheries LMOs are imported without license, discarding or returning those imported LMOs regardless of their proportion. The Annex 1 from Government Decision no. 1405 of 10 December 2008 was modified on 21 December 2015 and includes maximum residue limits of undesired substances in animal feed. This ensures that all animal feed on Moldavan markets meet the minimum requirements regarding the content of undesirable substances. Rules on feeding stuffs are needed to ensure agricultural productivity and sustainability and to make it possible to ensure public and animal health, animal welfare and the environment.
