3. Plant and animal species that are subject to the regulation by Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES): Import of species of wild fauna and flora that are subject to the regulation by the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) requires a permission. The Ministry for Protection of Environment and Natural Resources is responsible for permission issuance on importation of wild live animals and certain wild growing plants. For sturgeon species and products thereof only permissions for import are issued by the State Fisheries Agency.

Plant and animal species that are subject to the regulation by Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES): Import of species of wild fauna and flora that are subject to the regulation by the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) requires a permission. The Ministry for Protection of Environment and Natural Resources is responsible for permission issuance on importation of wild live animals and certain wild growing plants. For sturgeon species and products thereof only permissions for import are issued by the State Fisheries Agency.

4. Hazardous waste: Import of hazardous waste is regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Waste" of 1998 and associated regulation in order to ensure prevention of negative impact of waste on the environment and human health on the territory of Ukraine. The regulatory framework implements Ukraine's obligations under the Basel Convention for the Control of Trans-boundary Movements of Hazardous Waste and their Disposal (Basel Convention). Import of hazardous waste requires consent from the Ministry for Protection of Environment and Natural Resources. Consent is obtained through meeting the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1120 of 13 July 2000 "On Approval of the Regulation on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Waste and their Utilization/Disposal and "Yellow Waste List" and "Green Waste List" (as amended).

To ensure that hazardous waste is managed in an environmentally sound and efficient manner and that transboundary movements are conducted in a manner that protects human health and the environment against possible adverse effects under the Basel Convention

Aquatic bioresources and products thereof (toothfish): For import/export of aquatic bioresources and products thereof it is necessary to obtain a catch (re-export) registration form for Antarctic and Patagonian Toothfish, which is issued by the State Fisheries Agency, the authorized body for implementing the requirements of the Conservation Measure "Catch Documentation Scheme for Dissostichus spp.".

1.1. Plants and plant products: Import permits are required for the importation of most plants and some plant products, to protect against the introduction of pests and diseases. Permits are also required for the import, export or re-export of terrestrial plants that are on the endangered species list. Permits are only issued to a firm or individual resident in the United States.

Measure description Coverage of the measure
1.1. Plants and plant products: Import permits are required for the importation of most plants and some plant products, to protect against the introduction of pests and diseases. Permits are also required for the import, export or re-export of terrestrial plants that are on the endangered species list. Permits are only issued to a firm or individual resident in the United States.
Plants and plant products for or capable of propagation (including seeds): Cut flowers with berries attached; Products associated with the Khapra beetle; Fruits and Vegetables; Foreign Cotton and Covers; Sugarcane Products and by-products; Indian corn or maize, broomcorn, and related plants; Rice and related products; Timber Products: logs, lumber, other unmanufactured wood products; Plant pests and pathogens and host materials including: Pest and Pathogens, Biological control organisms, Bees, Parasitic plants and noxious weeds, Plant Growth enhancers, Soil and quarry products, Federal Noxious Weeds, Plants and plant products regulated under CITES; Plants and plant products in transit through the United States.

(Importation, Exportation, and Transportation of Wildlife) to implement provisions of a number of wildlife laws enforced by the Service. (...) As part of that rulemaking and under authority of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA), an import/export license is required for any person who engages in business as an importer or exporter of fish or wildlife unless that person imports or exports certain excepted wildlife or falls within one of the categories of persons excepted from the requirement by the rules. The licensing provision (...) provides that it is illegal for any person to engage in business as an importer or exporter of fish or wildlife (other than certain shellfish or fishery products) without first having obtained permission from the Secretary of the Interior.

Nuclear facilities and materials: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations governing the import of certain nuclear facilities and most radioactive materials are published in 10 CFR Part 110 pursuant to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended. These regulations apply to all persons in the United States although certain exemptions exist for the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Defense. The nuclear facilities and radioactive materials subject to NRC import licensing authority include: production and utilization facilities, special nuclear materials, source materials, and by-product materials, including when such materials are contained in radioactive waste.
