Proposed Amendments to the "Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Sustainable Use of Timbers": Importers shall file an import declaration with the Minister of the Korea Forest Service and the Minister shall require on inspection agency to inspect the relevant documents to verify timber legality before the completion of customs clearance for additional products as followed:
- wood sheets, shaped wood, particleboard and Oriented strand board (OSB), fibreboard, and wood pulp

Enforcement Regulations of the Environmental Testing and Inspection Act: The Regulations require performance certification on select monitoring or measuring instruments that are not subject to type approval or preliminary type approval under the Environmental Testing and Inspection Act (hereinafter referred to as "simple measuring instruments"). Under the Act, no person shall manufacture or import simple measuring instruments without the performance certification, and the Regulations prescribe a two-level certification system (Grade 1 and Certified) for these instruments. Specifically, the Regulations prescribe the list of simple measuring instruments, the process and required documents for applying performance certification, and the threshold for performance certification by medium (air, water, noise, etc.).

Draft Enactment of the Ministry of Environment (ME) Public notice on Labeling and Advertising of Consumer Chemical Products: Tighter regulations on labelling and advertising of products. Phrases restricted for Labelling and Advertising of Consumer Chemical Products are as follows,
1) Phrases that could be misunderstood as non-toxic
2) Phrases that may be misunderstood as having no negative impact on the environment or nature, etc.
3) Phrases that may lead to excessive use of the product or induce incorrect use of the product by misleading that there is no harm to the product
4) Phrases that may be misleading as having no negative effects on humans or animals

Proposed Revision of the "Enforcement Rule of the Act on the Promotion of the Conversion into
Environment-Friendly Industrial Structure": The proposed amendment is to: Remanufactured product shall be labeled clearly "Remanufactured Product" on the surface and the container or the outer packaging of the product.

The proposed amendments to the "Regulation on Safety Standards etc. of Cosmetics" include:
1) Addition of prohibited ingredients for cosmetics and stringent restrictions on uses
A. Addition of Persistent pollutants, some components of perfluorinated compounds, and 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene to Prohibited ingredients
B. Prohibition on the use of benzalkonium chloride, a preservative, in spray-type products
2) Newly established exceptions for ingredients prohibited for use in cosmetics (...)
B. permissible limits for radioactive materials that may exist in nature
C. permissible limits for Fluorescent Brightener 367 among fluorescent brighteners, which are prohibited for use in cosmetics
3) Addition of ingredients that can be used as a hair dye and their maximum concentration limit (...)

The "Enforcement Rule of the Clean Air Conservation Act" is being amended by the Ministry of Environment (MEK) as follows: Gas Heat Pump (GHP) is now classified into the category "air pollutant-emitting facilities" for emission management. But, it will not be regarded as such facilities when it satisfies the emission permissible level of 30% or less.

1) When a chemical substance is manufactured or imported equal to or more than 0.1 ton but less than one ton per year, it is allowed to waive environmental hazard data from data requirements for registration if the chemical substance's water solubility is less than 1mg/l or if the chemical substance is used as intermediate or process regulator. Draft partial amendment of the "Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources": Manufacturers of products are obliged to indicate the packaging method (packaging space ratio and number of packaging) on the outside of the packaging material. Penalties are imposed if packaging method is not indicated on the outside of the packaging material.

Susceptible Species of Aquatic Animals list.
Canada is updating the Susceptible Species of Aquatic Animals list (SSL) to add or remove OIE listed diseases of concern associated with species currently on the SSL. There will be no change to the list of susceptible species, only to the diseases to which they are susceptible.
These updates are to align with changes to the species listed in various disease specific chapters of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Aquatic Animal Health Code, and to add the emerging disease Decapod iridescent virus (DIV) as a disease of concern for certain crustacean species. Zoosanitary export certification is required for export to Canada of species on the SSL. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the certifying official in the exporting country to refer to Canada's SSL to review the diseases of concern for the species presented for export to ensure the export certificate conditions can be met.
