New South Wales: Coal Innovation NSW Fund grants program: This funding program aims to assist emerging energy technologies, that may provide future solutions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the mining and use of coal, through direct investment in research, development and demonstration (RD&D) projects.

The purposes of the fund include providing funding for research into, and development of, low emissions coal technologies, funding demonstration of low emissions coal technologies and funding commercialisation of low emissions coal technologies.

Northern Territory: Smarter Business Solutions: The Smarter Business Solutions program is designed to help Northern Territory business enterprises reduce their day to day operating costs. The program assistance includes free advice and grant funding incentives for Territory enterprises to adopt efficient, innovative technologies and best practices that will reduce their energy, water, waste and material costs.
Grant funding up to AUD 10,000 for on-grid businesses and AUD 20,000 for off-grid businesses is available for the installation of renewable energy systems. Additionally, up to AUD 20,000 in grant funding is available for the installation of eligible efficiency improvements.

Grants are paid to third party service providers for specific works that benefit the eligible program applicants.

Queensland: Vessel Tracking Rebate Scheme: The Queensland Sustainable Fisheries Strategy 2017-2027 outlines a ten-year reform agenda for the sustainable management of Queensland fisheries. As part of this strategy, vessel tracking capability will be required on all commercial fishing boats by 2020, with units to be installed on net, line and crab commercial fishing boats by 1 January 2019.

Cash rebate. The purchase rebate amount of an approved vessel tracking unit is up to a maximum of AUD 300 or AUD 750 (depending on the type of unit) and the rebate for installation is up to a maximum of AUD 220.
