Fair and ethical trade schemes are promoted by implementing recently concluded free trade agreements and through the network of EU delegations. The EU has also launched a new project with the International Trade Centre on fair and ethical trade , involving a study of the demand for certified products in the EU and the design of an ’EU City for Fair and Ethical Trade’ award. This project will complement past work done with the International Trade Centre to promote small businesses’ participation in private sustainability assurance schemes.

To further drive the development and growth of Malaysia’s ICM (Islamic Capital Market), the SC launched a five-year Islamic Fund and Wealth Management Blueprint (Blueprint) on 12 January 2017. The Blueprint identifies strategies and key initiatives to strengthen Malaysia’s positioning as a global hub for Islamic funds. It also aims to establish Malaysia as a regional centre for Shariah-compliant sustainable and responsible investment (SRI), leveraging Malaysia’s position as the largest SRI market in Asia.

At a time when transparency and accountability are a fundamental issue for public policy and there is also a worldwide concern to ensure that global economic activities are compatible with environmental policies, Mexico has established a wide range of robust and clear public policies and reforms. These have sought to link foreign trade activities with international instruments for the protection of the environment , management and conservation of natural resources , and forecasting of human health impacts, while at the same time promoting the competitiveness on green markets of the various operators involved in global trade.

Using the Adriatic Sea as our main resource, we include as one of our advantages the growth of nautical tourism (…) It is also planned preparation of the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Nautical Tourism.

The reform of the National Customs Directorate (DNA) forms part of the strategy of international integration and improved conditions for greater competitiveness in the production of goods taking into account the adaptation to the trends in international trade, in the areas of sanitary and environmental conditions, among other issues

New environmental protection measures are also planned:
• progressive and detailed regulation requiring maximum protection of the environment but graduated according to the scale of the mining works, and ensuring rehabilitation of the exploited sites;
• creation of an environmental restoration bond, from the start of the mining activity, to guarantee restoration of the exploited sites.

With a view to support sustainable agriculture and rural development, the sustainable management and efficient use of natural agricultural resources and production inputs have been identified as top objectives, as well as national biosecurity and effective risk management.
