The United States, together with Mexico and Canada, have continued efforts to ensure that trade liberalization and efforts to protect the environment are mutually supportive. In 2012, the NAFTA Free Trade Commission (FTC), NAFTA's central oversight body, approved a work plan to strengthen cooperation between the FTC and the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC). Trade officials from the three countries participated in the development of the CEC's 2013-14 work plan, which was formally adopted in July 2013. The work plan focuses on collaborative actions in three areas: greening transportation, tackling climate change while improving air quality, and addressing trade in electronic waste.

As a small island developing state, Mauritius is vulnerable due to the exiguity of its market, geographical isolation, its proneness to natural disasters, among others and its exposure to trade shocks. In this regard, Mauritius has been at the fore regarding the elaboration of a Work Programme for Small Economies in accordance with Paragraph 35 of the Doha Ministerial Declaration.. (…)

a. the Public Interest Whistle-Blower Protection Act, enacted in 2011, to encourage people to report violations of the public interest (including acts that infringe on the health and safety of the public, the environment, consumer interests, and fair competition) to prevent such violations;

The Canada-Panama FTA (CPaFTA) and parallel agreements on labour and the environment entered into force on 1 April 2013. Bilateral trade between Canada and Panama amounted to Can$106.53 million in 2014. Canadian merchandise exports to Panama were Can$95.45 million and imports totalled Can$11.08 million.

National awareness of the environmental dimension of development and the need to ensure the integrated management of Peru's natural resources and environment to  preserve and develop them in accordance with a systemic approach led in 2008 to the creation of the Ministry of the Environment and the approval, one year later, of the National Environment Policy, which is aimed at improving people's quality of life by ensuring the existence of ecosystems that remain healthy, viable and functional over the long term and at promoting the sustainable development of the country, through environmental protection, prevention and restoration and the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources , in a manner that is both responsible and consistent with respect for fundamental human rights.

The Business and Investment Development Strategy 2014-2020 indicates that the trade policy objectives of Albania are guided by WTO principles and therefore guarantee the absence of quantitative restrictions on imports and exports (except in cases of environmental protection or assistance to fragile industries, cultural heritage, forestry and arms and ammunitions), export subsidies, any kind of tax on exports and export bans.

The 7th Environment Action Programme, presented in the previous government report, will guide European environment policy until 2020.

4.40. Since 2010, the Government has been introducing accompanying measures to support operators in the wood subsector. In addition to the proposal to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZ), Law No. 4/2010 of 9 February 2010 established a National Forest Fund (FFN). It finances operations aimed, inter alia, at forest regeneration, the promotion of the wood industry and the protection and conservation of fauna. According to the authorities, a CFAF 20 billion support fund has been set up under the FFN to expedite the industrialization of the wood subector.

Malagasy forests are home to an exceptional range of flora and fauna and are one of the foundations of ecotourism.
