The residue monitoring programme for natural honey will include the following elements:

1. Surveillance and monitoring of the residues of pesticides, veterinary drugs and pollutants in natural honey (sampling plan);

2. A sanitary inspection programme, and programmes to follow up on results in the event of non-conformity owing to the presence of illegal residues of veterinary drugs, pesticides and pollutants in natural honey for domestic consumption and export, which are detected by the national control authorities or agencies of countries importing natural honey from the Dominican Republic.
