The goal of the Patagonia Rural Development Project (PRODERPA) is to lessen the vulnerability of the poor rural population in the region to social, production and environmental conditions and help to raise their living standards by building up assets for rural development with gender equality, paying special attention to indigenous communities and young people, and sustainable use of natural resources. It is being implemented in the provinces of Chubut, Neuquén, Río Negro and Santa Cruz and is financed by funds from the National Government, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and provincial counterparts. PRODERPA finances investment for collective use by organizations and associative projects for investment in sustainable fixed assets intended for production/marketing or the supply of production/business services, either through non repayable financial support or through loans, depending on the beneficiary's profile.

Under the National Forestry Policy of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand aims to achieve a total forest area of 40% (20.4 million hectares). 25% of Thailand's total area (12.75 million hectares) should be protected forest in order to preserve the environment, soil, water resources, and wild fauna and flora; prevent natural disasters; conduct research and development; and provide for recreational activities. 15% (7.65 million hectares) of Thailand's total area should be devoted to commercial purposes. To encourage a significant increase in commercial forestry, various incentives are provided. Commercial forestry was listed as one of the Board of Investment's activities of special importance and benefits to the country in 2014. Uncapped corporate income tax exemptions for eight years and other fiscal incentives are available to approved economic forest plantation projects, which must be at least 300 rai (48 hectares) and involve research and development activity. Additionally, the Royal Forest Department offers research and development services to promote faster tree growth and prevent pests. It also donates young trees for planting.

The Swiss Confederation assists Swiss farmers' organizations and inter-professional organizations to promote their agricultural products on the internal market and abroad. In 2015, approximately SwF 60 million were granted to around thirty promotion and marketing organizations. A large part of the financial support is dedicated to the promotion of cheese, meat, milk, fruit and potatoes. The marketing campaigns for organic products and for PDO/PGI products are also co-financed. Each year, the organizations have to apply for financial support of their promotional activities for the following year. Their activities can be co-financed by the Confederation up to a maximum of 50% of the costs, but only for market research and the following communication instruments: advertising (print, TV, radio, online, etc.), new media (homepage, social media, etc.), sales promotion (tastings, advertising material, training, etc.), public relations, events, fairs, sponsoring, and direct-marketing. Price-related activities (for example, a price reduction on products) and distribution costs are not eligible for financial support.

The latest revision of the Constitution in 2015 affirmed that "natural resources belong to the people and must therefore be used to improve their living conditions, with due respect for sustainable development". On 26 June 2015, a new Mining Code was adopted with the aim of reviewing the distribution of mining income. The Code governs all operations relating to the exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits, as well to the treatment, transport, processing and marketing of mineral substances with the exclusion of water and liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. According to the authorities, the new legislation is aimed at reinforcing the measures for the protection of the mining environment, and improving mining's contribution to State revenue and the development of the local communities. The new Code maintains the same rights, incentives and obligations for domestic and foreign enterprises.
