[United States—Korea Free Trade Agreement]
5.51. (...) in 2019, the United States requested environment consultations with Korea under the United States–Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) Environment Chapter to discuss concerns regarding Korea's response to actions of Korean vessels that contravened measures adopted by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). Following these consultations, Korea adopted amendments to Korea's Distant Water Fisheries Development Act to enable the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries to administer administrative sanctions for violations of conservation and management measures of regional fisheries management organizations, including CCAMLR.
