Plant Protection and Quarantine Law Language
Pursuant to Article 14 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, this Law provides the conditions to improve plant protection, plant quarantine services and protection of the environment ; prevent the introduction of and control the spread of plant pests; facilitate trade in plants and plant products; and improve livelihoods, food security and sustainable development of the national economy, in accordance with international obligations including relevant WTO agreements. The Law contains a total of seven chapters, comprising 41 articles, dealing with: I. General Provision; II. Duties and Authorities; III. Permits; IV. Phytosanitary Measures; V. Containment and Eradication of Pests; VI. The import and export of plant seeds, plants and plant products; VII. Miscellaneous Provisions. |

Countries wanting to export raw milk cheese to Australia can apply for assessment of whether their country's raw milk cheese production system is equivalent to the system in Australia. A government certification arrangement will be established to facilitate trade if the country meets Australia's biosecurity requirements, and demonstrates equivalence and compliance with applicable standards. |
