Criteria, sub-criteria and scoring system for calculating and displaying the repairability index of corded electric lawnmowers.
The repairability index consists of a score out of 10 intended to be displayed at the time of purchase to inform consumers of the categories of electrical and electronic products. This score is obtained by dividing an overall score of 100 points by 10 according to five criteria, each scored out of 20 and of equal weight, making it possible to assess the repairability of the products concerned. These criteria are as follows: documentation provided by the manufacturer, ease of disassembly of the product, availability of spare parts, relationship between the price of the most expensive spare part and the price of the original product, usage counter (optional) or other criteria specific to the category of products concerned. |

(1) Ministerial Ordinance on Standards for Labeling of the Steel or Aluminium beverage cans (2) Ministerial Ordinance on Standards for Labeling of the Polyethylene terephthalate beverage or specified sauce containers.
Act on the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources requires manufacturers to include specific marks indicating waste separation practices on specified products in order to promote the use of recyclable resources. In regard to steel or aluminum beverage cans and polyethylene terephthalate beverage or specified sauce containers, a significant amount of time has passed since the original enactment of the ministerial ordinances and waste separation practices. Therefore, the following amendments will be made to a) enable manufacturers to secure label space and b) promote further efforts to reduce the amount of waste and to encourage recycling of materials. Meanwhile, the size of required food labeling has been reduced because smaller beverage containers have become popular and the required amount of food safety information which must be displayed has increased. |

Amendments to the notification of waste items with limited imports to promote domestic waste recycling.
Korea is trying to ban the import of waste plastic (PET/PE/PP/PS) to promote domestic waste recycling. Due to the drop in oil prices and the impact of Corona 19, as the amount of accumulated waste plastics in Korea increases and the instability of the recycling market increases, we intend to limit the import of waste plastics of some materials with a large amount of accumulated wastes in order to promote the recycling of waste plastics in Korea. |

Reducing the impact of plastic on our environment - moving away from hard-to- recycle and single-use items: consultation document.
This proposal includes seeking feedback on phasing out (by 2025) problematic single-use plastic items where alternatives are viable and available. Items included in this proposal are single-use plastic: straws, cotton buds, drink stirrers, tableware (plates, trays, bowls) and cutlery, produce bags, plastic cups and lids (excluding disposable coffee cups), and non-compostable fruit stickers. The list is based on a range of considerations including environmental harm, availability of alternatives, and international precedent. The proposed phase-out would apply to any person or entity (technically, any natural person or legal person) selling, manufacturing or distributing these items. The final regulations may apply to either sale or manufacture of the prescribed plastics, or both. |
