A package of energy efficiency proposals aims to make energy savings in key areas, such as reinforcing energy efficiency legislation on buildings and energy-using products, and enhancing the role of energy performance certificates as well as inspection reports for heating and air-conditioning systems.

Trade and environment must be integral parts of a global agenda focused on inclusive and sustainable growth. Norway has always been an active supporter of cooperation between trade and environmental policymakers. The 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement represent important frameworks for the global challenges. Trade represents a positive element in solving environmental challenges, for example by reducing trade barriers for environmental goods and services, fishery subsidies reform, fossil fuel subsidies reform etc.

Canada advocates that trade-related technical assistance and capacity building activities and outputs are focused on results and impact through robust results-based management systems, and is supporting both gender and environment as cross-cutting issues

Accordingly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), the agency responsible for agricultural policy in the country, is seeking to strengthen Ecuadorian agriculture through effective public policies aimed at improving productivity, democratizing the factors of production, facilitating access to markets and strengthening community development. For example, programmes such as the so-called Gran Minga Nacional Agropecuaria (GMNA) is one of the most important public policy tools for boosting agricultural development in priority territories in order to strengthen the sector in a viable and sustainable manner by improving competitiveness and productivity, democratizing access to non financial services, making efficient use of natural resources, (...)

Peru has incorporated foreign trade in its national development strategies, notably in its National Strategic Development Plan ("Plan Bicentenario: El Perú hacia el 2021") adopted in 2011, and in the National Agreement adopted in 2002, which comprises state policies formulated and adopted with a view to setting the course for Peru's sustainable development and affirming its democratic governance.

Work continued, as well, toward the implementation of APEC Leaders' ground-breaking 2011 commitment to reduce their tariffs on an agreed list of environmental goods to 5% or less by 2015. The Public-Private Partnership on Environmental Goods and Services (PPEGS), having been established by APEC Leaders at their meeting in 2013, met for the first time in August in Beijing. This is a forum where APEC governments and industry representatives collectively address critical issues impacting this sector, including addressing non-tariff barriers impacting trade in environmental goods and services.

Brazil has also signed mutual recognition agreements with multilateral bodies such as the "Bureau International des Poids et Mesures" (BIPM), the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), the Inter American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the American Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG), the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) and the Global Partnership for Good Agricultural Practice (Globalgap), and became a full party to the OECD decisions on the mutual acceptance of data (MAD) – Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) on pesticides, their components and related products as well as on industrial chemical products.

The Government of Canada also consults the public on major trade initiatives, including the possible launch of trade negotiations, by soliciting comments and feedback through the publication of notices in Canada's Official Journal, the Canada Gazette. Such notices cover a broad range of issues, including issues related to goods and services trade, investment, and the possible environmental impacts of trade agreements.

The EU, in line with its established trade policy, ensures that no EU trade agreement will lead to lower levels of consumer, environmental or social and labour protection than offered today in the European Union, nor that they will constrain the ability of the EU and Member States to take measures in the future to achieve legitimate public policy objectives on the basis of the level of protection they deem appropriate.
