The Supervisory Authority for Investment in Energy and Mining (OSINERGMIN) is the public body with national responsibility for supervising and monitoring compliance with the legal and technical provisions relating to mining, electricity and hydrocarbons. It is also responsible for monitoring the safety of the infrastructure associated with these activities. Since 2010, the environmental regulations have been supervised, monitored and enforced by the Environmental Assessment and Monitoring Service (OEFA) of the Ministry of the Environment.

The EU and its Member States collectively drive global ‘Aid for trade’ efforts as the world's largest donor accounting for more than a third of global support, to the current tune of €12 billion per year. As a component of Official Development Assistance, EU Aid for Trade is programmed according to beneficiary needs, but with clear priorities, including support for implementing the Trade Facilitation Agreement and an ongoing commitment to prioritize the Least Developed Countries. Moreover, in its recent Communication on a New European Consensus on Development the EU committed itself to further coordinate development cooperation programmes (such as Aid for Trade) with trade policy tools to support sustainable development, including inclusive growth.

4.57. Approved forestry companies are also required to prepare and abide by a management plan to be included in the conservation, protection and forest management plan for the State's forests. According to the authorities, as of September 2012 all of the CAR's 11 PEAs attributed to concessionaires contained formally approved management plans. Three other non operating permits were awaiting allocation. The CAR has put in place national standards for management plans.

Authorization procedure and thresholds applicable to the opening of new supermarkets: cantonal and/or municipal enactments provide an authorization procedure for large-scale distribution facilities that may lead to rejection of an authorization, on a case-by-case basis, based on environmental , zoning, and urban criteria such as traffic, parking spaces, and proximity of bus stops. No economic needs tests or other market access/national treatment restrictions, apply (in the GATS sense) or authorization criteria based on commercial or competitors considerations.

The 2011 National Forest Plan (NFP) emphasizes sustainable development through the preservation of natural resources such as forests and wetlands

One key objective of Myanmar's tourism policy is to focus on the long-term sustainability of tourism development, notably through responsible and community-based tourism. The policy aims at maximizing economic, social and environmental benefits and minimizing costs. Myanmar is closely working together with the donor community in implementing its tourism development strategy.
