To promote the establishment of landscape and biotope-improving vegetation will help to increase the proportion of small biotopes and improve landscape values on farms, and may both give favourable living conditions for the natural flora and fauna and also increase public amenity assets in rural areas

To control the avian influenza in domestic birds and related wild species.
Provision of technical assistance to the Government of Honduras for capacity-building and strengthening of the implementation of selected components of its national action plan for the prevention, control and early detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The project, by controlling the virus of this disease in animals (domestic birds and related wild species), will restrict sporadic cases in humans and reduce the likelihood of an avian influenza pandemic in the country.

To promote environmentally sustainable agricultural production by encouraging farmers to use agricultural methods which are in accordance with the need to secure sustainable landscapes, varied nature and a healthy environment, protection of biodiversity and the avoidance of climate change, including a reduction of the greenhouse effect

To prevent and control pests and diseases, control quality and promote the proper handling of pesticides and biological agents in the context of the National Biological Control Programme

To provide integrated agricultural construction and environmental improvement programs for disadvantaged farms

To create an incentive to maintain the current levels of production in regions or in sectors undergoing certain difficulties and that are particularly important for economic, social or environmental reasons

To control organic products, provide assurance and protection to the people of the circulation of organic products that do not meet the requirements, provide business certainty for producers of organic products, build a credible and traceable organic farming system, and maintain the ecosystem so that it can play a role in environmental conservation
