There is no legislation regarding GMOs. The authorities indicated that the importation of GMOs is not subject to special procedures or restrictions. Dominica is a contracting party to the IPPC, and a member of the Codex Alimentarius Commission. It is not a member of the OIE.

Export operations in general became exempt from licensing under the terms of Article 9 of Law No. 92/IV/93 of 15 December 1993. However, Cabo Verde prohibits exports of endangered flora and fauna covered by the International Convention on Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (Washington Convention) according to Article 45 of the Customs Code. The Convention was approved through Decree No. 1/2005 of 21 March 2005. Protected plants and animals are listed in Regulatory Decree No. 7/2002 of 30 December 2002. Most of these species can be found in preserved areas in Cabo Verde, i.e. national and natural parks created through Decree-Law No. 3/2003 of 24 February 2003.

To date the European Union has not harmonized the vehicle tax regime, however EU law restricts member States' flexibility in applying consumption tax to vehicles. As such, each member State applies its own national transportation taxes, mainly through registration taxes levied on the car purchase, and circulation taxes – levied annually on car ownership. On cars, 19 member States apply registration tax and 21 apply circulation tax. In recent years such tax rates have been more commonly linked to the car's CO2 emissions, utilization of alternative energy fuels and other features promoting environmentally-friendly vehicles. Estonia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania do not apply vehicle tax on passenger cars. Among the member States, total revenue from vehicle taxation, as a percentage of GDP, ranged between 0.01% and 0.13% in 2012, averaging at around 0.05% in the EU.

The objective of this Climate Plan is to reconcile environmental protection with sustainable economic development.

(...) Using the multilateral mechanism, the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu has assisted developing country members with social and economic development. Measures undertaken included donations to international institutions, the establishment of special funds to cooperate with international institutions, and project collaboration with international institutions.
