Pursuant to Sri Lanka's Tourism Development Strategy 2011-16, Sri Lanka planned to issue new regulations or guidelines to bring certain aspects of the tourism sector in line with international standards or best practices. These include new regulations/guidelines on: (...) eco lodges, (...)

Sri Lanka has established five tourism zones to help encourage investment and development of the tourism sector. These zones concentrate development in certain areas for environmental and other reasons, and provide infrastructure and facilitate paperwork.

Developments during the period include the introduction of the Telecommunications Levy in 2011, which was further revised in 2013 and 2014. The levy was introduced to have one composite tax applied to telecommunications services. The levy replaced all other taxes, including VAT, NBT, Environment Conservation Levy and Mobile Subscribers' Levy, in order to simplify the tax structure for telecom. (...)

(...) . At present, the RDA (Road Development Authority) is in the process of preparing the "National Road Master Plan, 2017-27" (NRMP 2017-2027) and due consideration will be given to address all the requirements in a sustainable manner within the prevailing policy framework.

In 2014 the National Urban and Rural Development Council (CONADUR) launched the National Development Plan K'atun, Our Guatemala 2032, which aims to organize and coordinate the activities of the public administration, through the formulation of development policies, plans and fiscal programmes. The strategy was drawn up following wide ranging public private consultation and is based on five priority areas: urban and rural Guatemala; the welfare of the people; prosperity for all men and women; natural resources today and in the future; and the State as guarantor of human rights and the driver of development. The plan has 80 targets, which are to be achieved within a period of 20 years.

In 2012, the Ministry of Energy and Mining (MEM) published the paper Energy Policy 2013 2027 with a view to achieving sustainable energy development while ensuring social equity and environmental protection.

To that end, a strategy based on the following priority areas was drawn up:
• Efficient use of energy and energy savings: the objectives in this area include the introduction of specific mechanisms to encourage efficient energy use and reduce the use of wood as a fuel in industry and homes.

The updates are very important because they will help define a cogent vision for the next 15 years from their year of publication, based on various scenarios for expansion and a thorough analysis of variables such as the inclusion of hydroelectric and geothermal plant, energy efficiency measures and fuel prices.
