A number of products are subject to export duties, which are levied for revenue purposes. Lao PDR bans the exports of certain products on the basis of protecting (...) the environment. It also operates automatic and non automatic licensing for exports. Automatic export licensing is in place for statistical reasons, while non-automatic licensing is in place for public safety, national security, environmental protection, and exchange rate stability. The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, established in 2002 and in force since 2003, developed the First Strategic Plan for 2003-11, and prepared a provisional second Plan for 2013-21. The goal of the second Plan is to establish measures for the conservation, management, sustainable utilization and development of fisheries resources and related ecosystems; build capacity amongst fishers and optimize the social and economic returns from their fisheries; and promote competitive trade and stable market conditions.
