The Fisheries Division is responsible for the management, conservation, licensing, and development of Samoa's fisheries resources. In 2015, 83% of Samoa's energy demand was met by petroleum products, 14% by biomass, and the remaining 3% by hydropower, solar, wind and other renewables.(...) In 2017, the Energy Efficiency Act was adopted, with a view to, inter alia, setting up energy-efficiency standards, and promoting the use of products, brands and models that could facilitate the efficient use of energy. According to the authorities, import duties are suspended for materials imported in the context of renewable energy projects.

(...)The contribution of renewable energy sources was 49%, with 35% from hydroelectricity and the remainder coming from solar plants. Health, safety, security and environmental standards are in place for petrol service stations, and monthly checks are carried out to ensure they comply with the requirements.
