4.27. Tajikistan's installed generation capacity increased from 6,180 MW in 2013 to 6,197 MW in 2018. Hydropower accounted for 88.4% of installed capacity and 93.2% of the generated electricity in 2018, down from 94.9% and 99.7%, respectively, in 2013. Thermal power plants account for most of the remaining generation capacity and output, whereas solar and wind power stations' contributions remain very modest.

4.30. The electricity subsector comprises the vertically integrated SOE Barqi Tojik (BT), the Sangtuda-1 and Sangtuda-2 hydropower plants, (...) 4.32. Tajikistan is pressing ahead with its largest hydropower project, the construction of the 3,600 MW Rogun hydropower plant, scheduled for completion in 2032. Upon full commissioning, the plant is expected to resolve domestic electricity shortages and significantly increase export capacity. In September 2017, Tajikistan issued bonds totalling USD 500 million to finance the plant.

4.64. The SOE Rohi Ohani Tojikiston (Tajik Railways) has a statutory monopoly over all rail transport services and infrastructure.
