3.40. For plastic or glass containers, the levy is charged at a rate of XCD 0.25 to XCD 0.50 per container. The levy may be refunded partly (75%) if the importer produces to the Comptroller of Customs, within six months of importation, satisfactory evidence of re-export of the container or its disposal in a manner acceptable to the Grenada Solid Waste Management Authority. A full refund is granted for containers imported for manufacturing purposes that are re-exported.

3.108. Saint Lucia introduced some environmental policy measures during the review period, including phasing out of Styrofoam and other single-use plastic food service containers in Saint Lucia (Cabinet Conclusions No. 695 of 2018 and No. 132(a) of 2019); the eventual prohibition on the use of Polystyrene (PS) and Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), along with Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and High-density Polyethylene (HDPS), containers in the local food service industry; the application of a 0% import duty on all biodegradable and compostable food service containers; and the imposition of new HS codes on the aforementioned products.

Commodity description: Waste, parings and scrap of Plastics, excluding hospital waste of all kind, used sewerage pipes and used chemical containers falling under their respective Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT codes) (Sr. No. 26 of Appendix A refers)
Conditions: Importable by industrial consumers subject to the fulfilment of following conditions: (i) certification confirming appropriate manufacturing facility and determination of import quota from concerned Federal/Provincial Environmental Protection Agency; (ii) inspection from technically qualified designated Pre-Shipment Inspection companies to be notified by the Federal government from time to time that the imported consignment does not contain any hazardous waste, as defined in the Basel Convention

Conditions: Importable subject to certification from the exporting country that the granules being exported are free from hazardous substance as defined in Basel Convention. Customs Authorities shall ensure strict compliance of the condition
