In November 2019, the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) decided on the conformity of the relevant parts of the Draft Law with the provisions of the UPOV Act, 1991, which would allow Mongolia, once the Law was in force, to deposit its instrument of accession to the Act. As at April 2020, Mongolia was in the process of acceding to the Act.
