Executive Decree No. 9 of 6 May 2022 "regulating Law No. 187 of 2 December 2020, which regulates the reduction and gradual replacement of single-use plastics": The general objective of the notified Executive Decree is to establish criteria to guarantee that single-use plastics are reduced and gradually replaced by sustainable alternatives that are less harmful to the environment and human health, in accordance with the time frames and guidelines established in the law.

Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On Approval of the Labeling Procedure for Plastic Bags": The draft Resolution provides for establishment of certain obligations for economic entities, in particular: For producers of biodegradable plastic bags: ensuring compliance with established standards for recycling by composting or biodegradable; testing of the product range of biodegradable plastic bags; proper storage of technical information. For importers of biodegradable plastic bags: carrying out the placing into circulation of biodegradable plastic bags that meet the established standards for recycling by composting or biodegradation that are labelled . For distributors of biodegradable plastic bags: verifying the labelling of biodegradable plastic bags that meet established standards for recycling by composting or biodegradation.

Draft Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine "On Approval of Special Requirements for Plastic Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Foodstuffs":: The draft Order provides for the approval of special requirements for plastic materials and articles intended for contact with food, as well as a list of substances authorized for use in the production of such materials and articles. It's also established that products made of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs produced before the entry into force of this Order may be in circulation until their expiry date. The draft Order is also notified in accordance with the requirements of the SPS Agreement.

Plastic Content Reporting and Compliance: Proposed rule - The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is proposing permanent regulations per Public Resources Code (PRC) section 14547 in response to Assembly Bill (AB) 793 that would adopt definitions for postconsumer recycled material, post-industrial recycled material, plastic material reclaimer, manufacturer of postconsumer recycled plastic, and clarify definitions for food-grade, and bottle-grade terms; recordkeeping and compliance requirements for beverage manufacturers; reporting requirements for beverage manufacturers, plastic material reclaimers, and manufacturers of postconsumer recycled plastic; petition requirements for an association to petition CalRecycle's Director to adjust the minimum postconsumer recycled content standard; and, requirements for beverage manufacturers to submit corrective action plans and requests for reducing administrative penalties. These proposed regulations would also amend section 2100 to make clear that failure to file a required report correctly and accurately by a beverage manufacturer, a plastic material reclaimer, or a manufacturer of postconsumer

Paper and Paper-Based Packaging Promotion, Research, and Information Order; Continuance Referendum: Notification of referendum - This document directs that a referendum be conducted among eligible domestic manufacturers and importers of paper and paper-based packaging to determine whether they favor continuance of the Agricultural Marketing Service's (AMS) regulations regarding a national paper and paper-based packaging research and promotion program. This referendum will be conducted by express mail and electronic ballot from 6 October 2023 through 20 October 2023. To be eligible to vote, persons who are currently domestic manufacturers and importers and who domestically manufactured and imported 100,000 short tons or more of paper and paper-based packaging during the representative period from 1 January through 31 December 2022, are eligible to vote in the referendum.
