4.13. Since 2015, the agricultural policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, and since 2018 of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, is based on the Strategy for Agricultural Development in Georgia (2015-20). The vision of the Strategy is to create an environment that will increase competitiveness in agro-food sector, promote stable growth of high-quality agricultural production, ensure food safety and security, and eliminate rural poverty through sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas. The Strategy includes seven major targets: (...) dealing with climate change, protecting the environment, and maintaining biodiversity.

Relevant information
4.14. In December 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with other relevant Ministries, produced the Rural Development Strategy of Georgia (2017-20). This long-term strategy ensures constant improvement in the quality of life and the social conditions of the rural population, based on a combination of increased economic opportunities, more accessible social benefits, a rich cultural life, environmental protections, and the sustainable management of natural resources. The vision extends beyond the strategy period of 2017-20 and identifies nine strategic objectives in three priority areas: (...) Economy and competitiveness objectives: (...) diversification of the rural economy through strengthening the agricultural-related value chain and promoting various sustainable non-agricultural activities (...) Environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources objectives: improvement of the management of water, forest, and other resources in targeted rural areas; promotion of sustainable systems of waste management in rural areas; and activities used to mitigate the negative impact of climate change.

Purpose: Improving Georgian tea potential and promotion of high-quality tea production, including production of bio (organic) tea with the intent of raising self-sufficiency and export capacity. At this time, implementation of the State Technical Assistance Program on certification and co-financing of international standards were ongoing.
Financial aspects and conditions: Co-financing of the rehabilitation works for the tea plantations owned by the programme beneficiary and/or by the State.
The rehabilitation cost shall not exceed GEL 2,500 (including VAT) per ha.

[3.3 The UAE Trend Towards a Circular Economy]
3.8. The UAE is one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to adopting concepts of the circular economy. Following the signing of various cooperation and international agreements in 2019 and in July 2020, the UAE Council on Circular Economy was formed to oversee the country's circular economy initiatives, indicating the UAE's commitment to environmental protection, sustainability and private sector collaboration to further enable the adoption of clean consumption and production practices.
