4.14. The MAF[the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry]'s 2019-2023 Strategic Plan was developed in 2019, consistent with the Eleventh Development Plan (2019-23). Its main objectives are to: (i) ensure food and feed safety from production to consumption; (ii) take necessary measures for plant and animal health and welfare; (iii) protect fisheries and aquaculture resources, to ensure their sustainable operation; (iv) ensure the sustainable management of soil and water resources; and (v) protect biological diversity and ensure its sustainable management.
