Relevant information
The next stage of Switzerland's agricultural policy is scheduled to begin on 1 January 2014 (AP 2014-17). The Bill, which amends the Law on Agriculture and includes a four-year budgetary framework, is currently pending before the Swiss Parliament. The main policy objectives are: food security (maintain self-sufficiency at the current level of around 60%); competitiveness; efficient and sustainable use of natural resources ; and innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture.
