Relevant information
Import licences are granted, in general, within three working days if "ordinary" criteria are met; if refused, the reasons for refusal must be given to the applicants who have the right to appeal. Licences for importation of endangered species;  of animals and plants require at least three working days. For importation of motor vehicles, specimens listed in CITES , and ozone -depleting substances, prior comments/approval from relevant authorities must be sought before submitting applications to the MES for import licences. Import licences are valid for 30 days from issuance, and may not be extended. Import licences are not transferable among importers. 48
