Draft Ministerial Regulation on Plastic Food Containers for Microwave Part 2 : For Single Reheating (TIS 2493-2556(2013)): The draft ministerial regulation mandates plastic food containers for microwave oven to conform with the standard for Plastic Food Containers for Microwave Part 2 : For Single Reheating (TIS 2493-2556(2013)) .
This standard covers plastics container, lids and other components contact food directly. Temperature resistance shall not be less than 100°C. These are intended for single reheating form a single layer or multi-layer materials for use in microwave ovens. Also prescribes kind and abbreviation, materials, general requirements, packaging, marking and labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity and testing.

Draft Ministerial Regulation on Plastic Bags for Food (TIS 1027-2564(2021)): The draft ministerial regulation mandates plastic bags for food to conform with the standard for Plastic Bags for Food (TIS 1027-2564(2021)) .

This standard covers plastic bags for food made of virgin resin. It classifies plastic bags by the application into 3 types, i.e. for hot, cold and frozen food. It also specifies shapes, width, length, thickness. This standard prescribes requirements for appearance, tensile strength, elongation, temperature resistance, seam strength, leakage, safety requirements (e.g. overall migration and specific migration, substances in material, etc.) . It also includes packaging, marking, labelling, sampling and criteria for conformity and testing.

It classifies plastic utensils for food by types of plastics into 6 types i.e. polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, poly(ethylene terephthalate), poly (vinyl alcohol) and poly (methyl pentene) . Draft for the restriction on the production, importation, and sales of plate packaging materials containing Polyvinylchloride (PVC), designated recyclable containers, and non-plate disposable tableware containers: Polyvinylchlioride (hereinafter referred to as ''PVC'') has been widely used and deeply involved in our daily lives for years. PVC products are often added with stabilizers due to the need for heat resistance substances which contain heavy metals that are harmful to human health. PVC materials are not resistant to oil-soluble corrosion; therefore, it is possible to have plasticizer contamination in our foods, resulting in environmental hormone effects and carcinogenic risk due to the exposure to PVC. (...) Further risks to the environment are followed by the burial and reusing process of the ash and slag, which causes the pollution to be distributed in the environment.

Considering the fact that Dioxin is very difficult to decompose in natural environment, negative impacts of dioxin on human health and the environment will become significant once it has entered the food chain. In order to protect the health of the citizens and environment, the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) guides the industry to switch to other alternative materials to reduce the use of products containing PVC by the consumers.
