4.51. Seychelles is a member of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), which has responsibility for the conservation and management of tuna stocks that migrate in or out of the Indian Ocean. Licences to fish in Seychelles' exclusive economic zone (EEZ) are subject to the payment of licence fees and are of a limited duration; licensed vessels must be listed on the IOTC positive record of vessels authorized to fish in the areas of competence of the IOTC.
