Circular No. 345 Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) on Agricultural material standards and its management: This circular has its own objectives to ensure a high quality of agricultural materials, strengthening the effectiveness of work performance to eradicate of the negative impact came out from manufacturing, importing, business running and sale the counterfeit products, under standards and banned pesticides that caused severely danger to social welfare, social environment and nature.

Law on the Management of Pesticides and Fertilizers: This law means to support the policy promoting the highly effectiveness potentiality of Agricultural sector, for the development of social and National economy, ensuring the safe and effective control of pesticides and fertilizers, and implementing relevant mandates related to conventions or International agreements on pesticides and agro-chemicals in complying with the international standards, enhancing public awareness on the implementation of standard requirements of pesticides and fertilizers for all relevant activities related to these products and reducing risks caused by the use of pesticides and fertilizers, for the beneficiary of farmers and people in the nationwide, by ensuring food security, food safety, public health, and the sustainability of environment.

Changes to the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances: Chemicals regulated by the Act on the Promotion of Environment-Friendly Agriculture and Fisheries and the Management of and Support for Organic Foods, etc. are no longer subject to the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances. Korea Customs Service now should provide information requested by Ministry of Environment regarding chemicals manufactured in or imported to Korea.

Act on the Conservation and Use of Biological Diversity: Brown trout (Salmo trutta) has been designated as ecosystem-disturbing species. The list was updated by adding 1,180 species to and removing 179 species from the previous 2016 list of 4,813 species subject to approval for carrying out abroad.

Consumer Chemical Products and Biocides Safety Control Act: This act aims to protect people's health and the environment and contribute to public safety by defining matters pertaining to the risk assessment of chemical products, the approval of active substances and biocidal products. This act adds missing articles and modifies labelling requirement by type.

Persistent Organic Pollutants Control Act: Add Mercury and its compounds regulated by the Minamata Convention on Mercury. Imports may not be made other than for the purposes permitted under the Stockholm Convention and the Minamata Convention

Wildlife Protection and Management Act: In the Enforcement Decree of The Wildlife Protection and Management Act, the common name of Corniculate spurred gentian in Korean was corrected. Annexes 6 and 8 of the Enforcement Decree are revised.

Chief Executive's Decision No. 45/2022: In order to implement the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government has included 18 kinds of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) with high global warming potential (GWP) into the regulatory scope of Decree-Law No. 62/95/M through Chief Executive's Decision No. 45/2022, that is, HFCs and equipment containing HFCs will be included in the licensing regime. The relevant measures will enter into force on 1 April 2022, and the import or export of the goods concerned shall be subject to licensing requirements.

DENR Administrative Order No. 2021-31 - Chemical Control Order for Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs): All importers with Hydrofluorocarbons must register under the Chemical Control Order for Hydrofluorocarbons prior to the issuance or application of the Pre-Shipment Importation Clearance. This must be applied through an online application at the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Central Office.
