9.1. Through the National Development Strategy 2020-30 (NDS30), Cameroon's aim is to bring about structural change in its economy by making fundamental changes to its productive, industrial, financial, administrative, environmental and social systems in order to promote strong, inclusive and endogenous economic growth that focuses on job creation and high value added activities.

9.6. (...) In regard to agriculture, the main focus is on developing local supply in four areas:
i. facilitating access to land, in particular through the drafting of the Rural Code and the development of large sustainable hydro agricultural areas;

9.7. In the timber industry, actions are aimed at:
a. developing the domestic market for logwood, in particular by revising the legal and regulatory framework, improving the use of logging residues and stepping up the exploitation of communal and community forests;

9.9. (...). SGS and INTERTEK International have also been implementing the preshipment conformity assessment programme for imported goods (PECAE) on behalf of ANOR since 2016. The main aim of the PECAE is to certify the quality of imported products, which are subject to technical regulations, with a view to protecting the environment and public health.

9.22. The statutory rate applicable in Cameroon is 17.5%, plus a local tax equivalent to 10% of the VAT rate, bringing the effective applied VAT rate to 19.25%, above the range set out in the CEMAC Directive. The General Tax Code lists the goods (which may be imported or locally produced) that are exempt from VAT. (...). Exemption is also granted for (...) materials and equipment for utilizing solar or wind power.

9.24. Cameroon generally applies excise tax at the maximum rate provided for by Community provisions, i.e. 25% (...). There is also a specific excise tax on non-renewable packaging (...)

1.2. Cameroon boasts vast natural resources (including oil, gas and wood) and a favourable climate for developing agriculture, the main products of which are coffee, cocoa, cotton and bananas. (...)

2.29. (...). The benefits under the Private Investment Law are available to a range of activities, particularly in the agriculture, tourism and manufacturing sectors, as well as to activities that contribute to environmental protection.

2.36. Under the Law on incentives for private investment in Cameroon, concessions may also be granted on the basis of specific activities, including: (...); the acquisition and on site installation of specialized materials and equipment for treating and purifying solid, liquid or gaseous industrial waste in order to prevent it from being discharged in the form of effluents, gas or other substances that are harmful to health.

3.16. SGS and INTERTEK International have also been implementing, on behalf of ANOR, the Preshipment Evaluation of Conformity programme (PECAE) for imported goods since 2016. The main purpose of PECAE is to certify the quality of imported products, subject to technical regulations, with a view to preserving the environment and public health.
