Environmental programme: Agri-environment-climate funding for environmental land management priorities under Rural Development Programme, support to increase resilience of wildlife, habitats and ecosystems to climate change, investments in forest area development, woodland creation and sustainable management of existing woods and forests, wetland creation, conservation of cultural and natural heritage located on agricultural holdings, improving water management and enhancing biodiversity, support for conversion to and maintenance of organic farming systems for environmental benefits.

The United Kingdom (UK) provided food aid assistance to Least-Developed and Net Food-Importing Developing Countries through grant form and did not donate actual food products in the 2022 Calendar Year. 1.3. Endangered Species (CITES): This section provides an overview of legislation regulating imports of specimens of certain endangered species of animals and plants, whether dead or alive and including their parts or derivatives. The system implements the licensing obligations of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Documentation is required for the import into and (re-)export from United Kingdom (UK) of endangered species listed in Appendices I, II and III of CITES and of certain non-CITES species which are covered by relevant legislation.

1.4 Harvested Timber: The FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) licensing scheme is a voluntary scheme to ensure that only legally harvested timber is imported into the UK from countries with which the UK concludes bilateral FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPAs). Under the scheme a partner country issues FLEGT licences for every shipment of timber products covered by the agreement exported to the UK. The release for free circulation in the UK of such shipments is conditional on the acceptance by the UK competent authority of the FLEGT licence. The competent authority may verify the authenticity of the FLEGT licence and its conformity with the shipment that it covers.
