DRS 185: 2023, Code of hygienic practice for meat: 1.1 This Rwanda standard covers hygiene provisions for raw meat, meat preparations and manufactured meat from the time of live animal production up to the point of retail sale. It further develops 'The Recommended Rwanda Code of Practice: General Principles of Food Hygiene' in respect of these products. Where appropriate, the Annex to that code (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System and Guidelines for its Application) and the Principles for the Establishment and Application of Microbiological Criteria for Foods are further developed and applied in the specific context of meat hygiene. 1.2 For the purposes of this standard, meat is that derived from domestic ungulates, domestic solipeds, domestic birds and lagomorphs. This standard may also be applied to other types of animals from which meat is derived, subject to any special hygienic measures required by the competent authority. Further to general hygiene measures applying to all species of animal as described above, this standard also presents specific measures that apply to different species and classes of animals. 1.3 The hygiene measures that are applied to the products described in this standard take into account any further measures and food handling practices that are likely to be applied by the consumer. NOTE Some of the products described in this standard may not be subjected to a heat or other biocidal process before consumption. 1.4 Traditional practices may result in departures from some of the meat hygiene recommendations presented in this standard when meat is produced for local trade.

DRS 186-1: 2023, Fire safety for buildings — Code of practice — Part 1: General principles of fire grading and classification: This Draft Rwanda Standard covers the general principles for fire grading/types and classification of buildings according to the use or the character of occupancy.

DRS 186-2: 2023, Fire safety for buildings — Code of practice — Part 2: Details of construction: This Draft Rwanda Standard specifies essential requirements for fire safety of buildings with respect to details of construction.

DRS 186-3: 2023, Fire safety for buildings — Code of practice — Part 3: Fire safety in public buildings: This Draft Rwanda Standard covers the fire safety requirements in public buildings. Taking into account that absolute fire safety is not attainable in practice, it specifies measures which to be taken to reduce loss of lives and damage properties.

DRS 186-4: 2023, Fire safety for buildings — Code of practice — Part 4: Selection, installation and maintenance of automatic fire detection and alarm system: 1.1 This Draft Rwanda Standard covers the minimum requirements for planning, design, selection, installation and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems. 1.2 It covers systems capable of providing signals to alarm in the event of a fire, to initiate operations of ancillary services, such as fire extinguishing systems and other necessary precautions but it does not cover the ancillary services. It covers fire detection and alarm system installed in buildings of different types.

This Draft East African Standard provides requirements for organic production. It covers plant production, animal husbandry, aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, bee-keeping, the harvesting of wild products, and the processing and labeling of the products therefrom. It does not cover procedures for verification such as inspection or certification of products.
