The Danish Rural Development Programme 2007 - 2013: Nature and environment projects:
The purposes of the scheme are to:
• Promote the environment and nature-friendly management of agricultural land, forest and natural areas;
• conserve and promote biological diversity in the Danish landscape;
• promote the establishment and management of wetlands;
• conserve and promote environmental, natural and cultural assets;
• improve the recreational assets in rural areas;
• promote animal welfare for grazing livestock in nature and landscape conservation;
• improve the opportunities for utilising environmental, natural and cultural assets in a commercial context.
The support scheme can cover several types of project, including integrated projects which also facilitate more than one of the above-mentioned purposes.

The Danish Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020: Organic farming – area support
The individual organic farm for a five-year period. A basic subsidy of DKK 870 is paid per hectare each year for all organic areas both during and after conversion. On top of this DKK 1,200 is paid during conversion to organic production per hectare each year for two years. Additional premia are paid to specific measures (plant production with limited fertilizer use and fruit/berries production).
