2022: Multi-Species Sward Measure 2022: (...) Research work carried out on multi-species swards has shown beneficial results on low nitrogen input plots which has the potential to provide a more environmentally friendly production system allowing for increased Carbon sequestration while simultaneously reducing emissions of nitrous oxide, a potent greenhouse gas.
The measure was operated through Agri-retailers/Co-ops who discounted the price of each bag of multi-species seed on receipt of an approval letter from applicants participating in the scheme. The Agri-retailer/Co-op was then re-imbursed by the Department of Agriculture Food & the Marine

2022: EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme: As set out in the EMFAF OP Ireland has made a considerable contribution to the collection of data and development of knowledge under the EMFF programme. Ongoing work is required to inform strategy and policy decisions, fisheries management, aquaculture and foreshore licensing, and environmental and biodiversity monitoring. Decision making in these areas will be supported by projects carried out by the EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme.
