3. Ozone-depleting substances – ODS - (controlled substances): The import of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) is subject to licensing. In the context of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on the substances that deplete the ozone layer, the European Commission issues ODS licences based on applications submitted via the ODS Licensing System. Imports (as well as exports) of controlled substances, referred to hereby as ozone depleting substances (ODS) and products and equipment containing or relying on ODS are prohibited. However, there are exemptions to this prohibition.

3. Ozone-depleting substances – ODS - (controlled substances): The import of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) is subject to licensing. 2021: EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme: As set out in the EMFAF OP Ireland has made a considerable contribution to the collection of data and development of knowledge under the EMFF programme. Ongoing work is required to inform strategy and policy decisions, fisheries management, aquaculture and foreshore licensing, and environmental and biodiversity monitoring. Decision making in these areas will be supported by projects carried out by the EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme.

2021: EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme: As set out in the EMFAF OP Ireland has made a considerable contribution to the collection of data and development of knowledge under the EMFF programme. Ongoing work is required to inform strategy and policy decisions, fisheries management, aquaculture and foreshore licensing, and environmental and biodiversity monitoring. Decision making in these areas will be supported by projects carried out by the EMFAF Marine Biodiversity Scheme.

A valid registration equals to a licence to import and export these gases, as required under the Montreal Protocol. 6. Import of waste shipment: This section provides a description of the EU waste shipment notification scheme as established by the EU rules and procedures for the transboundary shipments of waste. The import of waste into the EU is for some waste controlled under a permit system administered by the national competent authorities. Its requirements are tied in with those of the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal.

7. Import of harvested timber: This section provides a description of the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade licensing scheme (FLEGT licensing) scheme as established under the EU FLEGT Regulation. The FLEGT licensing scheme is a voluntary scheme to ensure that only legally produced timber products are imported into the EU from countries with which the EU concludes bilateral FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPAs). Under an operational FLEGT licensing scheme, a partner country issues FLEGT licences for every shipment of timber products covered by the VPA, exported to the EU.

The programme is open to all suckler beef farmers who commit to completing the mandatory action required within the duration of the programme, optional welfare enhancement actions are also available for additional support.

2022: National Parks and Wildlife Farm Plan Scheme: was introduced on 1 January 2006 to aid the farmer/landowner to enhance and aid biodiversity in their farms/land. This is done by creating optimum habitats by aiding improved stock management and grazing through fencing. Other activities include scrub clearance, hedgerow inputting and grass reseeding.

Measure description Coverage of the measure
2022: National Parks and Wildlife Farm Plan Scheme: was introduced on 1 January 2006 to aid the farmer/landowner to enhance and aid biodiversity in their farms/land. This is done by creating optimum habitats by aiding improved stock management and grazing through fencing. Other activities include scrub clearance, hedgerow inputting and grass reseeding.
The subsidy is paid to NPWS Farm Plan participants on the anniversary each year of when the participant signed up to scheme. It is paid directly into their bank account once we have received a compliance report from the assigned Farm Planner
