Support for renewable energy generation in Bulgaria (SA. 51542 - Changes to the scheme of support to production from renewable energy sources (RES) in Bulgaria): The primary objective is environmental protection through promotion of energy production from renewable energy sources. Support for renewable energy generation in Bulgaria (SA. 51542 - Changes to the scheme of support to production from renewable energy sources (RES) in Bulgaria): The primary objective is environmental protection through promotion of energy production from renewable energy sources. The state support for renewable energy is necessary in order to achieve the national target for the share of renewable energy in the gross final energy consumption of the country in 2020 as established in Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.
Beneficiaries are producers of electricity from renewable sources, with the exception of hydroelectric power plants with an installed capacity of more than 10 MW.
