3) Detailed description of measure with reference to criteria:
Through the CCRP the Commonwealth is providing $A46.2 million programme towards research and demonstrations to help develop practical management techniques for farmers, foresters and fishers to manage emissions and adapt to climate change. Research focuses on reducing green house pollution, better soil management and climate change adaptation, and involves projects that provide practical management solutions to farmers and industries. Over 50 research projects have been established over the life of the programme. Research projects are being delivered in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including research providers, industry groups, universities and state governments.
The CCRP and its outcomes will improve opportunities for primary producers to respond to climate change and manage emissions while improving their productivity.
This programme is exempt from reduction commitments consistent with Paragraph 2(a) - research – of Annex 2 of the Agreement on Agriculture.

To promote sustainable use and management of natural resources.
Research aimed at improving productivity and market performance of the meat and livestock industry and further the sustainable use and management of natural resources.

To provide support for the rural sector focussing on climate change programs among others. Provides support for management of research and development programs for the rural sector focussing on new and emerging plant and animal industries and generic programs such as agribusiness, extension, rural education and climate change.

To support research into the management and control of weeds and invasive pests detrimental to primary production and the environment.
