A number of policies are in place for the promotion of renewable energy. For instance, specialized solar equipment and accessories are exempted from the payment of import duties.

The energy efficiency policy is more specifically defined in the "Strategy for Improvement of the Energy Efficiency until 2020. In the process of transposition of the Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU, the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2010/31/EC, and the Regulation 2017/1369 for establishing a framework for indicating energy consumption, a new Law on Energy Efficiency is under preparing by the end of 2019.
