According to the National Strategy for Sustainable forestry Development in the Republic of Macedonia with the Action Plan 2007-2009”, both adopted by the Government, the MAFWE is responsible for creation and implementation of policies and reforms for sustainable management of forest  resources. The state-owned forests cover 90,14% and the private owned forests cover 9,86% of the total forest land. State-owned forest management is carried out by Public Enterprise "Macedonian forests" within which there are 30 branch offices responsible for forest  management, sylviculture, seedling nurseries and a forestation, as well as forest  protection.

Federal and provincial governments work collaboratively on energy policy through the Energy and Mines Ministers process. In 2011 at the annual Energy and Mines Ministers' Conference, energy ministers provided guidance to ongoing collaboration among federal, provincial and territorial governments on shared priorities. Specifically, collaborative Canadian efforts on energy have focussed on the areas of energy efficiency, responsible oil and gas development, electricity reliability, and technology innovation. In addition, in August 2014, Canada's Premiers announced their shared vision and principles for a Canadian Energy Strategy which would update the previous 2007 strategy. When finalized , the Strategy is expected to promote intergovernmental collaboration and transparency, address climate change and social and environmental responsibility, and ensure energy security and stability.

In 2006 Gabon adopted the GPRSP, which identifies five objectives: consolidation of the macroeconomic framework; growth by means of economic diversification and regional integration; human development and the fight against poverty; territorial planning and the preservation of the environment; and consolidation of the rule of law, administrative reform and regional integration. Innovative efforts have been made to produce fertilizer by making use of guano deposits. The fertilizer meets European and American standards for organic products. Its cost is less than one third that of chemical fertilizer. Organic fertilizer's share of total fertilizer use is around 15%. Moreover, one of the byproducts of the Ambatovy mining project is a fertilizer, ammonium sulphate, of which it is hoped to sell 210,000 tonnes a year

The CAFTA-DR entered into force in Costa Rica in January 2009. It was signed by the Parties in August 2004. During the period under review, Costa Rica promulgated or amended various laws and regulations to implement its commitments under CAFTA-DR in relation to intellectual property, the opening up of the insurance and telecommunications markets, protection of representatives of foreign businesses, corruption and illicit enrichment, and labour and environmental matters.
