Draft Biosafety (Management of Biotechnology ) Regulations with procedures and arrangement of regulations in the management of genetically modified organisms :

a) to ensure an adequate level of protection in the field of safe development, transfer, handling and use of genetically modified organisms resulting from biotechnology that may have an adverse effect on health and the environment ; and

b) to establish a transparent and a predictable process to review and make decisions on genetically modified organisms.

The Annex 1 from Government Decision no. 1405 of 10 December 2008 was modified on 21 December 2015 and includes maximum residue limits of undesired substances in animal feed. This ensures that all animal feed on Moldavan markets meet the minimum requirements regarding the content of undesirable substances. Rules on feeding stuffs are needed to ensure agricultural productivity and sustainability and to make it possible to ensure public and animal health, animal welfare and the environment.
