Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding the outbreak of Epizootic ulcerative syndrome disease in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates is applying temporary emergency measures to prevent the risk of introducing the Epizootic ulcerative syndrome disease through the imports of live fish and their products from the United Kingdom. Therefore, MOCCAE regulates the importation of live fish and their products from free establishments or free areas only in the United Kingdom. The competent authority in the United Kingdom should declare this additional information in the accompanied health certificates for export of live fish and their products.

Measure description Coverage of the measure
Following the notification published by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding the outbreak of Epizootic ulcerative syndrome disease in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates is applying temporary emergency measures to prevent the risk of introducing the Epizootic ulcerative syndrome disease through the imports of live fish and their products from the United Kingdom. Therefore, MOCCAE regulates the importation of live fish and their products from free establishments or free areas only in the United Kingdom. The competent authority in the United Kingdom should declare this additional information in the accompanied health certificates for export of live fish and their products.

Following the Decree No. 322 of 2018 on the Regulation of the importation plant hosts from countries that have recorded infections of the fall armyworm (Spodoptera Frugiperda: Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) which was notified and published in SPS notification G/SPS/N/ARE/142/Add.1 , United Arab Emirates is applying an emergency measure to prevent the risk of entrance of the pest from India and Yemen. Therefore, the competent authority in affected countries should apply the phytosanitary measures described in the mentioned decree, and declare the measures in the phytosanitary certificate. Annex No. 4 of the list of countries, which have recorded infections of the autumn cluster insect (Spodoptera Frugiperda: Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), has been updated.

These have been developed following a review undertaken by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) .

To manage the biosecurity risks associated with waste s generated in the post-border processing of imported salmonid products, salmonid products imported into Australia must be in a consumer ready form (at least de-headed, de-gilled and eviscerated) or must be sent to an establishment for further processing into a consumer ready form prior to release.
