The purpose of the notified regulations is to regulate the functions of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy (MINAE) through the Directorate-General for the Transportation and Marketing of Fuel, and to establish the legal and technical requirements, and procedures, governing the distribution, storage and marketing of hydrocarbon fuels intended for the end consumer. The text also establishes minimum technical specifications for the construction and remodelling of service stations and storage tanks, with a view to ensuring that they operate in the safest and most effective manner possible, while preserving the integrity of the environment.

Ministerial Decree No.1002/2017 gives the producers and importers a transitional period of six months to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 164 with its issued parts specifying the construction and performance characteristics as well as the requirements and methods of test for the safety and marking of freestanding and built-in domestic cooking appliances burning the combustible gases.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with EN 30-1-3:2003+A1:2006, EN 30-1-4:2012

The Ministerial Decree No.1002/2017 gives the producers and importers a twelve-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 8057:2017 which is concerned with identifying the specific requirements of energy -efficient electrical household vacuum clean ers, which aims to rationalize electrical energy consumption and improve environmental conditions by reducing emissions which are harmful to the environment caused by the increasing use of energy .

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with IEC 62885-2/2016 and Regulation (EU) No 665/2013.

The Draft of Egyptian standard specifies the requirements of energy efficiency for refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers and freezers, that aims to conserve the electrical energy consumption and improve the environmental conditions through reducing the emission of harmful gases which are produced as a result of the over consumption of the energy.

Draft Order establishing health and natural environment protection requirements governing the importation of animal species (including invasive species) not subject to harmonized European Union regulations

The notified Order establishes the phytosanitary technical standard to be met by wood packaging material, including wood dunnage, in accordance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15: Regulation of wood packaging material in international trade, for the entry of wood packaging material and dunnage into the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

Amendments Act of Weapons Act, Strategic Good Act, Explosives Act and Other Acts: This draft amendment regulates the classification of weapons in the Weapons Act and introduces new terms (service weapon, military weapon, training weapon) . In addition, the object and purpose of the Weapons Act is modified. The Act has hitherto mostly regulated the handling and supervision of weapons in civil use. The amendment extends the scope of the Weapons Act to include the handling of any weapons.
