Proposed changes to the current regulatory requirements to:
1. Provide for the phasing out of PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances) containing firefighting foam concentrates, including:
• Legacy fluorotelomer C8 aqueous film forming foams. This includes products containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)-related compounds that have just been listed as a Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) in the Stockholm Convention.
• Modern fluorotelomer C6 Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) . These are not listed as a POP in the Stockholm Convention, however, they were recommended not to be used as alternatives (to C8 foams) by the Conference of the Parties for the Stockholm Convention.
2. Restrict the purpose for which perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) firefighting foams may be imported or manufactured to importation or manufacture for certain transitional uses
3. Provide for conditions attaching to the importation or manufacture, use, storage and disposal of PFAS firefighting foams, and the use, storage and disposal of PFAS firefighting foam waste products for the purpose of protecting the environment.
4. Set general conditions on the use of fire-fighting chemicals, including requirements relating to labelling, safety data sheets, packaging and disposal.

Proposed changes to the current regulatory requirements for air conditioners are set out in Items One to Four below.

1. Adopt a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) methodology for rating air conditioner energy efficiency, by incorporating the following Australia/New Zealand Standards into regulation.
2. Adopt a Zoned Energy Rating Label to replace the existing Energy Rating Label, and, (for products not required to display a label) report Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings on the Energy Rating website.
3. Changes to MEPS requirements.

This Omani draft technical regulation lays down the essential safety requirements for products defined in section (4), as well as responsibilities of Economic Operators involved in the supply chain as for ensuring compliance of products.

It defines conformity assessment procedures to be conducted by manufacturers or importers before putting products into the market, by competent conformity assessment bodies to be appointed under this technical regulation.

The notified draft Supreme Decree amends the quality requirements for the importation of used land transport motor vehicles, which are established in Article 1 of Supreme Decree No. 843.

The notified text addresses the certification and oversight process for organic production; conditions on organic group operators (internal control systems); conditions, requirements and obligations of certification bodies (certification authorities and the Participatory Guarantee System); use of the national organic seal; marketing of organic products; violations and penalties and other matters.

Philippines Administrative Order (AO) No. 2015-0038 dated 08 September 2015 entitled "Removing the Requirements of Licensing as Importers, Exporters, Manufacturers, Toll Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Distributors, Retailers or Re-Packers of Those Engaged in Certain Household/Urban hazardous Substances, and from the Requirement of Prior Registration and/or Notification of Said Products" repealed by the present notification.

Administrative Order (AO) No. 2014-0038 entitled "Rules and Regulations Governing Household/Urban Pesticides Licensing of Establishments and Operators, Registration of Their Products and for Other Purposes" was issued on 27 October 2014. As there is a need to provide updated guidelines and requirements consistent with international commitments such as but not limited to Montreal Protocol, Rotterdam Convention, and/or Stockholm Convention, and related local pesticide regulations and standards, this AO shall replace AO 2014-0038 to (1) better protect public health and the environment from the risks associated with pesticide use; and (2) to ensure safety, efficacy and quality of pesticide products.

The above mentioned standard mainly specifies the updating of QS 2663-2015 on energy labeling requirements and the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) requirements, concerned with single-package (such as window type) and split-system non-ducted air conditioners using air- and water-cooled condensers and heat pumps employing air-cooled condensers and ducted air-conditioners using air-to-air heat pumps for residential, commercial and industrial sector as applicable in accordance with Qatari standards.
